10,000km of bikepacking experience that I want to share with everyone!

Hi, my name is Lewis Brindley, passionate bikepacker and here to help you get on your bike and off the beaten track.

My bikepacking story starts in 2015 when I unfortunately had to give up on an attempt to cross Canada by bike due to injury. Despite this, my obsession with bikepacking was born.

18 months later, and after a lot of physio, I rode the length of New Zealand. This trip created a long lasting love affair with bikepacking and New Zealand (I have lived here for almost 14 years)

In those 14 years I have ridden almost every trail in New Zealand and bikepacked around the world.

I’ve spent many years working as a guide and instructor, as well as becoming a bike mechanic and PMBIA Mountain Bike Instructor.

By combining all of this work, bike and travel experience, I believe I am the best person to show you the joys of bikepacking and adventuring in New Zealand.

Lewis runs an excellent course. Very happy with the course content and came away buzzed about bike packing. Highly recommended for anyone keen to get into bikepacking and be self-sufficient on the trail.

Lewis took us on a great adventure - we loved every minute - from learning the basics of how to pack the bike for an overnight camping adventure to basic bike maintenance, as well as entertaining us with great conversation. The cycle was beautiful and for a training run was just right, neither too far nor too easy. The camping set up was great and breakfast the next morning was very delicious. Thank you, Lewis, for all your patience and sharing expertise with us, we look forward to joining you again for another adventure in the future, Sara and Richard.
